Built during the Qing dynasty, the temple’s century-old history and splendid architectural design have attracted many visitors to worship throughout the year. The shopping street in front of the temple also sells a variety of local snacks and quality tea, making it a great place to visit not only for the faithful but also for those who enjoy tea.

本宮為供奉神威顯赫主神的玄天上帝受天宮，地處南投、彰化兩縣交界之八卦山山脈朝向西南；全省各地之信徒為數衆多，一年當中，陸陸續續皆有來自各方之進香團陣頭來訪参拜而不間斷，為我國臺灣地區著名的宗教聖地之一。
