Xinjie, Mingjian Township, is a natural wetland terrain formed by the river, and the water is clean and suitable for growing agricultural products. One of the most famous is “Cold Spring Cabbage.” Every year, the local farmers’ association holds a “Water Spinach Festival” where visitors can experience picking and tasting the crisp and delicious water spinach. Due to the good ecological conservation, people who like bird watching can also have the chance to see rare birds such as Painted Snipe and Red-tailed Burro, in addition to observing the ecology of the wetland.
