Wenwu Temple is a magnificent temple standing on the shore of Sun Moon Lake, and the two red stone lions at the entrance are rare in Taiwan. The temple is built along a mountain, with the mountain at the back and facing the lake in a quiet environment. When it is sunny, blue sky and white clouds and green trees are reflected on the lake; when it is raining, layers of white mist float on the surface of the lake, and the open and beautiful scenery is highly appreciated by visitors. The temple was formerly known as “Longfeng Temple” and “Yihuatang” during the Japanese rule period. The temple is divided into the “Hall of Worship”, which is dedicated to the god of foundation and the god of literature, the “Hall of Wusheng”, which is dedicated to Guan Sheng Di Jun and Yue Wu Mu King, and the “Hall of Dacheng”, which is dedicated to Confucius, is a temple of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism.
