In Shang’an Village, Shuili Township, Nantou County, there is a suspension bridge across the Sanjheng River, which is called the “Shuili Magpie Bridge”. The 225-meter-long Shuili Magpie Bridge is the longest single-span suspension bridge in Nantou County. The ceramic brick murals at the entrance of the suspension bridge are the works of the local residents, conveying a strong sense of rural atmosphere. When you walk into the Magpie Bridge in the morning, you will feel the mist covering the mountains, and you can enjoy the fresh breeze coming from the bridge. From the Shuili Magpie Bridge, you can see the beautiful scenery of the mountains, forests, valleys, and you can also see the outlet of the Changyulan River and the central mountain range from afar, making it one of the most attractive sightseeing spots in Shuili. Shang’an village next to Qiaotou is a typical rural village, and is also known as the “Plum Village”. The red-roofed village houses reveal the quiet atmosphere of the mountains and the wilderness, which makes people forget to return.
