Taiwan once had the highest production of lemongrass oil in the world, and the main production area was Guoxing Township, Nantou County. After the 921 earthquake, Liu Chang-kun, a villager, decided to re-enter the lemongrass oil industry in order to revitalize the economy of his hometown and established the “Akun Lemongrass Workshop.” Although it is difficult to promote lemongrass oil in the market because of its high price, Liu Chang-kun still insisted on using the traditional method to make natural lemongrass oil.
