The Dongpu Hot Spring Plaza, which will be newly completed in 2020, is made of stone slabs to symbolize the traditional Bunun stone houses, allowing visitors to experience the culture of the Bunun tribe in Dongpu as soon as they enter the plaza, and the space inside the plaza can also be used as a marketplace and other activities to bring people closer to Dongpu.

A new public hot spring foot bath area has been created in the Dongpu Plaza, where visitors can enjoy the legend landmark of white dear and the mountain scenery of Dongpu while soaking their feet. Visitors to Dongpu can experience the hot springs and scenery of Dongpu in a more intimate way.

The inspiration for the White Deer Landmark came from a local Bunun legend that a water deer that was accidentally injured by a hunter once healed after taking a dip in Dongpu Hot Spring while traveling through Dongpu, and this inspired designer Hsiao Ching-Yang to create a 3-meter long and 1.5-meter tall statue of a white deer, symbolizing the healing power of Dongpu Hot Spring.
