Even on hot summer afternoons, walking along the Tutingzai Hiking Trail can be refreshingly cool and refreshing. The total length of the trail is 600 meters, with a height difference of about 80 meters, and the walking time is about 15 minutes each way. On the walk, you can also see birds such as multicolored birds, tree magpies, and embroidered eyes. Tutingzai is the site of the ancestral spirit ritual of the Shih clan, and there is a statue of the Shao mascot, the owl, at the entrance of the trail. There are many signs along the trail to introduce the Shao culture to visitors. After passing through the lush forest, you will reach the Toutingzai Lighthouse, the smallest and highest in Taiwan and the only one not facing the sea. From the observation tower next to the lighthouse, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Sun Moon Lake, which is as calm as a mirror.
