The biking path around Sun Moon Lake has been selected as one of the most beautiful biking paths in the world by international travel websites for many times. The bikeway is built along Sun Moon Lake, away from the hustle and bustle of traffic and the scenery is beautiful and bright, where visitors can enjoy a moment of quiet and undisturbed time. The total length is about 3.6 kilometers, and it takes about 40 minutes to ride slowly. The first half of the Yuetan Bikeway is smooth and easy to ride, starting at the Xiang Shan Visitor Center, passing through the south shore of Sun Moon Lake, Toushe Dan, Crescent Bay, and ending at the entrance of Huan Tam Tunnel No. 1. The scenery of the lake and mountains along the way attracts visitors’ attention, and when you reach the waters of Crescent Bay, which is not accessible by ship, you may want to stop and enjoy a moment of tranquility! The section from Crescent Bay to the entrance of Tunnel 1 will have a large undulating ramp, which will be the biggest challenge in this section of the bikeway.
