The Nantou County Government held a press conference on October 28 to announce the upcoming “2025 Nantou Camping Carnival.” Deputy County Magistrate Wang Ruei-de remarked that late autumn and early winter are the best seasons for camping in Nantou — visitors can admire fireflies, enjoy heartfelt conversations, or simply lie on the grass and feel the breeze. This year’s carnival will feature a Youth Trend Music Festival, inviting all camping enthusiasts to join in the fun.
The 2025 Nantou Camping Carnival will take place on November 8 at Chenggong Square in Guoxing Township. To attract younger audiences, the event will include not only the music festival but also a camper van showcase and popularity contest, appealing to the growing community of camping lovers. County Councilor Jian Qian-xiang, Guoxing Township Mayor Chiu Mei-ling, and other guests attended the press conference to express their support for the county’s efforts in promoting camping tourism.
Deputy Magistrate Wang noted that the county government has been assisting camping site operators in obtaining legal permits while promoting low-carbon travel. Guoxing Township’s camping areas, located at elevations between 600 and 1,000 meters, are surrounded by coffee plantations and scenic mountain landscapes, making them perfect camping destinations. He encouraged all nature and camping enthusiasts to come to Nantou on November 8 to experience the joy of camping firsthand.
Mayor Chiu expressed her gratitude to the county government for organizing the event. She highlighted that Nantou’s campgrounds each offer unique experiences — from cloud-sea views and forest walks to Hakka and Indigenous cultural encounters. The carnival also provides a platform for campers to share experiences, showcase gear, and exchange tips, enriching their outdoor lifestyles through learning and community.
According to the Tourism Department of Nantou County Government, this year’s carnival will continue to feature the popular camping marketplace, local DIY workshops, and pet-friendly events such as pet beauty contests and animal communication sessions. For the first time, the event will host a Youth Trend Music Festival, featuring live performances by Golden Melody Award-winning artists — Mango Jump (Best New Artist), Night Keepers (Best Band), Green!Eyes, and Men Envy Children.
In addition, the event will showcase luxury camper vans valued in the millions, allowing visitors to vote for their favorite designs. To promote sustainable tourism and local commerce, the carnival will integrate eco-friendly campaigns, such as “Go Green & Win Market Prizes”, and connect with the “DotDotTou” digital points platform to encourage local spending — reflecting the vision of “Low-Carbon Leadership, Sustainable Nantou.”
The 2025 Nantou Camping Carnival will feature Nantou’s largest camping market, offering a wide range of camping equipment, gourmet food, and local specialties. Visitors can also enjoy four free Hakka handcraft workshops and pet-friendly experiences, ensuring everyone — including furry friends — can join the fun.
Guests staying overnight at licensed accommodations in Nantou on the day of the event can redeem a portable folding Sierra cup with proof of stay. Moreover, those who spend over NT$1,000 within Nantou can book an exclusive “Instagrammable Glamping Lounge”, complete with personalized meals, dedicated service, and a front-row view of the evening performances.
The press conference also featured the premiere of “Memories of Traveling in Nantou,” a short film showcasing the county’s stunning natural landscapes through a narrative approach. Upcoming events in Nantou include the Beigangxi Hot Spring Festival on November 1 at Taiya Resort, the Guoxing Chenggong Festival from November 14–16, and the Nantou Hiking Festival on November 15 at Hanlong Trail and November 29 at Ruilong Waterfall.
