Taiwan’s Largest Coffee & Chocolate Festival is Coming Soon! Nantou’s “So Café, So Good” Event Unveiled, Gathering 100+ Brands This Dragon Boat Festival

The most anticipated coffee and chocolate-themed event in Taiwan — the 2025 Nantou Chocolate Coffee Festival — will take place from May 30 to June 8 at Fuxing Hot Spring Park in Puli, Nantou. Now in its fifth edition, the festival features an all-new theme, “So Café, So Good”, expanding its venue size and upgrading its experiences, and is expected to draw large crowds to Nantou.

On May 20, the Nantou County Government held a press conference in the main hall, where Deputy County Magistrate Wang Ruide and special guests shared the festival highlights. Attendees enjoyed a sneak preview of a “French Desserts × Champion Chocolate” tasting session, curated by Michelin-starred chef Pierre Mosser, who crafted two exquisite chocolate desserts paired with award-winning local Nantou coffee, showcasing the region’s rich ingredients.

Blessed with exceptional geography and climate, Nantou is a key hub for coffee and cacao in Taiwan, with coffee known for its layered flavors and cacao plantations covering over 20% of Taiwan’s total planting area. County Magistrate Hsu Shu-Hua remarked that through tastings, DIY workshops, and guided tours, Nantou continues to develop its unique agricultural and tourism industries, promoting local brands and driving economic growth.

This year’s festival will cover 6 hectares with 15 themed zones, featuring over 100 vendors of coffee, chocolate, local delicacies, and souvenirs. Highlights include the Presidential Banquet-selected 92 Xiangyang High Mountain Coffee, internationally awarded brands like Feeling18 Chocolate Factory, Cona’s Chocolate, and popular souvenir shops such as HiWalk, Vigor Kobo, and DAXI Sweets. The event will also welcome the first-ever appearance of the Milk Foam Cat merchandise pavilion from the beloved Cat Meme Bug (Maomaochong Kabochan) brand.

The outdoor exhibition area will feature a 1.7-hectare colorful flower field, themed lantern installations of Maomaochong Kabochan, a home economics DIY classroom, a flavor lab, a dog playground, and interactive art installations, making it perfect for family outings. Limited-edition co-branded merchandise will also be available, and visitors spending NT$668 or more can participate in a capsule toy lucky draw, with total prizes exceeding NT$1.5 million.

On weekends, four large-scale activities for thousands of participants will be held, including Sicilian Coffee DIY, upcycling crafts using coffee grounds, and hand drip coffee workshops. Registration comes with a picnic bag filled with champion chocolate, a giant croissant, and classic pastries. In the evenings, three themed concerts will feature performances by Princess Ai (戴愛玲), Tseng Hsin-Mei (曾心梅), A-Lan AC (阿蘭AC), and a special collaboration with the popular Maomaochong Kabochan IP, followed by a spectacular drone light show and fireworks display.

The event also integrates a charitable aspect by partnering with the Liang Xiantang Social Welfare Foundation to host the “Coffee & Chocolate with Love” charity fair from May 30 to June 2, featuring on-site art auctions, charity products, and a special opening day charity booth, concluding with a donation ceremony on closing day.

In support of sustainability, the festival will feature eco-friendly tableware rental stations and introduce a co-branded reusable tasting cup with Maomaochong Kabochan. Visitors can also hop on a sightseeing shuttle to tour the venue and flower fields. Additionally, a LINE digital stamp rally will be held — collect stamps, make designated purchases, or show hotel stay proof to redeem exclusive Maomaochong Kabochan souvenirs and discounts.

The Nantou County Government will also connect this event with the 2025 Nantou Stargazing Season and the Cycling 100K Leisure Ride Tour, inviting travelers to enjoy stargazing, coffee, desserts, and a festive summer carnival in Nantou.

The 2025 Nantou Chocolate Coffee Festival runs from May 30 to June 8, open from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays, and extended to 8:00 PM or 9:00 PM on holidays and concert nights. For more details and activity registration, please visit the official event website.
