This man-made lake is filled with the vibrancy of nature, with its green mountains, shimmering lake surface and lush shade of the surrounding forest. The “Minghu Reservoir Observation Deck” is a great place for families and couples to enjoy a relaxing vacation with a view of the beautiful scenery in the Mingtan catchment area, just like a crane in the wild. 
Next to the observation deck is a monument with the inscription “Shine on others” to commemorate those who died on the job during the reservoir project. The nearby Da Guan Power Plant, the largest power plant in Asia, is also open for free tours, with exhibits of historical relics and guided tours to give you an insight into the history and anecdotes of the power plant’s establishment.
