Batongguan Ancient Road

The Batongguan Ancient Trail is an ancient road about 4.3 kilometers long, stretching from the trailhead to the Yunlong Suspension Bridge. Along this trail, you can see Bunun tribes hidden in the mountains and forests, roads carved into the cliffs, as well as continuous peaks and the magnificent Yunlong Waterfall. The first half of the trail is steep, and the second half is relatively gentle, taking about 5 to 6 hours to complete the round trip. The scenery along the way is beautiful, with scenery such as Yunlong Waterfall, Otome Waterfall, and Father and Son Cliff, and it is one of the most popular mountaineering and hiking trails, and you can also continue to climb Yushan from here.
The famous landmark of the western section of the Batong Guanyue Ridge Road is the “Yunlong Waterfall”, known as the western version of the Taroko Conglu Ancient Road, with a one-way length of about 4 kilometers and an altitude rise of about 400 meters. Starting from the Dongpu Suspension Bridge, all the way into the Batongguan Ancient Road, the first half of the father-son cliff has now been built into easy-to-walk steps, followed by a trail carved out of the cliff.
