Introduction

The Kaishan Temple located in Yonglong Village, Luggu Township, Nantou County, is said to have been built by Zheng Chenggong’s troops to reclaim the Fenghuang Valley area, and the local residents established the temple in 1883, the 9th year of the Guangxu period of Qing Dynasty, to pay homage to “Kaishan Gong”. Although the temple is not large in scale, the temple is very popular and the temple fair is always very busy on February 2 of the lunar calendar because it is the birthday of the main god. In addition, behind the temple is the Kirin Mountain. From the stone walkway, you can reach the observation deck at the top of the mountain and enjoy the beautiful view of Kirin Lake, Dong Din Mountain and Tea Mountain.
