The Houtanjing Recreational Area, located in Nantou City, is a well-known scenic spot in the Baguashan Scenic Area and is known as the “Sunset Valley”. If you are in the park at sunset, you can see the whole golden color of the park. There are two hiking trails on the Baguashan mountain range, one connecting the viewing pavilion and the other the observation deck of Houtanjing. The valley between the two is now connected by the ” Houtanjing Staircase”, also known as the “Sky Bridge”. The bridge is 204 meters long, with 265 steps and a height difference of 5.65 meters between the two ends. On a good day, the bridge offers a beautiful view of the Changhua Plain, the Xiluo Bridge, and the mouth of the Turbid River, which is like walking on a cloud.
