2023 Nantou Chocoffee Festival Nantou Chocoffee Festival Upgraded! Drone Fireworks Show and A Lineup of Celebrity Singers.

The 2023 Nantou Chocoffee Festival is set to grandly take place from October 28th (Saturday) to November 7th (Tuesday) at the Fuxing Hot Spring Park in Puli, Nantou. This year marks the third edition of the festival. Different from the Nantou Global Tea Expo, it has moved to the expansive Fuxing Hot Spring area in Puli, significantly expanding its scale. It features twelve major themed areas, covering an exhibition area of 3.7 hectares, and brings together over 50 local premium coffee, chocolate, and souvenir brands to join in the festivities!

This year, the overall exhibition area is designed in a light industrial style. The day before the exhibition (27th) is a trial operation day, where the public can visit and make purchases. At the entrance of the exhibition area, there is a large thematic container imagery, and an internationally renowned graffiti artist, DEBE, is invited to create artwork on the container facade. The limited-time container painting welcomes visitors to take photos. The exhibition area is divided into twelve major themed areas, including four main exhibition halls: the selected brand avenue with dreamy glass houses, Nantou Chocoffee House, Orchid and Creativity Hall, Boutique Flavor Pavilion, and Mountain City Goodies Pavilion. To encourage people to spend, for every NT$500 spent in the exhibition area, visitors have a chance to use a capsule toy machine and win high-quality items such as coffee beans from various brands, chocolate gift boxes, collaborative gift boxes from the festival, and co-branded popcorn with X Pablo.

During the exhibition period, coffee-themed events for a thousand people are organized. On the opening day (10/28) afternoon, the Thousand-Person Pour-Over event takes the lead. Led by the participating brand Guoxing Township Farmers’ Association 92 Coffee, local baristas guide attendees on pour-over techniques. They also provide picnic bags in collaboration with Feeling 18, including a newly developed ‘giant croissant’ larger than a face, uniquely designed to be enjoyed by dipping in coffee. The following weekend on 11/4 and 11/5, fun coffee experiences and a Thousand-Person Roasting event are respectively held. On the 4th, organized by the Water Resources Agency, they introduce flavor wheel and coffee grounds experiences for family entertainment. On the 5th, the Thousand-Person Roasting event is led by one of the local coffee shops, featuring coffee roasting tutorials and demonstrations of bean drying and roasting machines. The event is sponsored by the Alishan National Scenic Area Administration, providing Alishan-flavored picnic bags. All themed events require pre-registration on the official website and on-site registration during the event.
This year’s Chocoffee Festival focuses on a carnival-grade event plan that allows for enjoyment from morning till night. During the day, there are diverse courses such as coffee pour-over and chocolate crafting that people can participate in for free. In the vicinity, there are exhibitions, flower gardens, family-friendly playgrounds, and displays of Kanahei’s animal light installations. In addition to shopping for various quality products from different brands within the exhibition area, there is also a food area where visitors can dine in the industrial-themed relaxation space while exploring the exhibition. The exhibition area hosts a variety of performances starting from the afternoon until the evening, including interactive programs for families, light rock, dance, and more. The highlight of weekend evenings features heavyweight singers, including popular artists among the younger generation like OSN, Kimberley Chen, Crispy, and Iceball, who won the Best Vocal Group award this year. During the exhibition weekends on 10/28, 10/29, and 11/4, there will be an additional spectacular Kanahei’s animal-themed drone fireworks show, creating a stunning and exhilarating visual experience.

During the exhibition period, a diverse range of activities will be introduced, allowing everyone not only to learn about the combination of coffee, chocolate, and Nantou but also to experience a top-notch tasting. Nantou County Magistrate Shu-Hua Hsu stated that chocolate and coffee in Nantou are emerging local industries, and Nantou’s coffee has gained international recognition, with its quality comparable to international gourmet beans, offering the same boutique-level quality assurance. The local cocoa is also well-received by the public. Currently, it is also the hot spring season in Nantou, welcoming people from all over Taiwan to participate in the Chocoffee Festival and enjoy a relaxing hot spring journey.

In this Chocoffee Festival, numerous special offers and services are also being introduced. In addition to exploring the various exhibition areas, attendees can participate in a digital stamp collection activity using LINE. Simply enter the exhibition areas to automatically collect stamps. Upon collecting the specified number of stamps, attendees can exchange them for Kanahei’s animal-exclusive bracelets, available in limited quantities for redemption daily. To assist festival-goers in their exploration, shuttle services are provided around the venue, making it convenient for visitors to park nearby and access the exhibition area or visit the nearby family-friendly integrated park.
