Nantou Travel 100K Bicycle Series Event Launch Press Conference: Inviting Everyone to Accumulate 100K Travel Miles by Cycling in Nantou

The Nantou County Government is actively promoting low-carbon travel and has specially organized the “Nantou Travel 100K Bicycle Series Events.” On April 15th, a grand press conference was held in the county government hall to declare the start of the series. Representing Governor Hsu Shu-hua, Deputy Governor Wang Rui-de, along with many distinguished guests, inaugurated the “2024 Nantou Travel 100K” event by cycling together, announcing that the event website is now officially open for registration. They warmly welcomed cycling enthusiasts of all ages from everywhere to participate in the “2024 Nantou Travel 100K Bicycle Town Tours” taking place in Jiji, Nantou City, and Zhushan Town.

The press conference featured Nantou County councilors Chien Chien-hsiang and Lin Youyou, Nantou City Mayor Chang Chia-che, Director of the Nantou Branch of the National History Museum Lin Ming-zhou, Jiji Town Secretary General Zhuang Zijian, and the Secretary-General of the Cycling Association of the Republic of China, He Lijing. Representatives for councilor Lin Ru-yang were also present. The press conference was further enhanced by a harmonica quartet from Nangang Junior High and a guitar ensemble from Renhe Elementary School. Hiroji Nagai, the Director from Kyuden Industrial Co., Ltd., who is also tasked with promoting cycling sports interaction between Taiwan and Japan, attended and received an appointment certificate and a precious painting gift from Master Li Gu-mo.

Deputy Governor Wang noted that Nantou welcomes all friends participating in the “2024 Nantou Travel 100K Bicycle Town Tour” with a romantic mood and pace. He encouraged everyone to cycle leisurely through Nantou, exploring its scenic rural paths and experiencing a smooth, adventurous 100K journey.

The Nantou Travel 100K Bicycle Challenge on June 22nd will take participants through the mid to low altitude hills of Nantou, starting from the National History Museum’s Taiwan Literature Repository in Zhongxing New Village and passing through Nantou City, Caotun Town, Zhongliao Township, Shuili, and Jiji Town, making a loop around Nantou’s town areas. Participants will experience the 100K scenery of Nantou’s countryside and enjoy an eco-friendly cycling tour.

Nantou’s Bicycle Town Tour also invites cyclists to slowly explore local secret and pocket spots in the towns, capturing the essence of must-visit places and must-eat foods. This year, three town tours will be held on May 18th in Jiji, June 22nd in Nantou, and July 20th in Zhushan, leading cyclists to enjoy the simple pleasures of cycling, eating, drinking, and playing leisurely in Nantou’s towns. Additionally, a fun kick scooter race for children will also be held on June 22nd at the Taiwan Literature Repository in Zhongxing New Village.

The “2024 Nantou Travel 100K Bicycle Town Tour” series, starting today until July, is also expanding to include a store stamp collection event for souvenirs. Interested parties can collect a stamp brochure from participating stores. Explore Nantou, taste its distinctive cuisine and traditional goods, and experience low-carbon living! The County Tourism Office will continue to host other themed events such as the Nantou Starry Sky Festival, Firefly Season, and Chocolate Coffee Festival, making Nantou a worthy destination for travel.
